• Before starting the project activities, the project team visited the District Civil Hospital/ Women Hospital for analysing the gaps required for the set-up of Preventive Oncology, Cancer Day Care Centre and for performing cancer surgeries.

• Gap analysis report duly signed by the Project PI and Officers who were present at the time of gap analysis is submitted to the State Health Office for bridging the gaps.

• Gap Analysis report is helping in the procurement of equipment, consumables, and medicines.

• Under this project we are organizing a one-day district level training program on “Early detection, screening and prevention of common cancers” for the medical officers and nurses of the project selected districts

Under this project we are organizing a hands-on training for the master trainers for strengthening their skills in Preventive Oncology, Medical Oncology and Surgical Oncology.

All types of hands-on training are given in the Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai.

Duration of hands-on training:

• Preventive Oncology- 15 days

• Medical Oncology- 1 month for the administration of cancer drugs (Given in rotation wise)

• Surgical Oncology-3 months for performing cancer surgeries

Training conducted during the pandemic period:

• During COVID-19 lockdown period, project team had conducted all trainings virtually.
